Dive into the majestic wilderness of Siberia and experience an adventure that takes you deep into one of the most untouched and awe-inspiring regions of the world! The Yenisei, one of the longest rivers in the world, tells of the wild beauty of nature, far and untouched by human influence. It flows like an endless ribbon from the green hills at the Mongolian border to the icy waters of the Kara Sea in the Arctic Ocean. The route through Siberia is a window into a world known to few – a breathtaking river that, as the “Siberian Meridian,” runs through the heart of this vast land.
Your swimming adventure
Date: May 28, 2025 – June 20, 2025
Our journey begins in Moscow and takes us by plane to the historic city of Krasnoyarsk, where you will immerse yourself in the magical atmosphere of Siberia. The Yenisei, surrounded by majestic forests, mighty cliffs, and endless skies, will be your companion on a 2,100 km route divided into four stages:
- Stage 1: Krasnoyarsk - Yeniseisk: 420 km
- Stage 2: Yeniseisk – Tunguska: 510 km. Yeniseisk, known as the "Father of Siberian Cities"
- Stage 3: Tunguska – Turukhansk: 560 km
- Stage 4: Turukhansk – Dudinka: 530 km. One of the most remote regions in the world, with the final port at the Arctic Ocean near the Polar Circle
A journey through time and space
Schedule: In June, as the sun bathes the north of Siberia in warm light, this expedition begins. The water temperatures of the Yenisei range from a refreshing 10–13°C, while the air surrounds you with a summer-like 20°C. After your arrival in Moscow, we will warmly welcome you and take you to a comfortable hotel. The next day, you will fly to Krasnoyarsk, where your adventure begins:
- Overnight Stay in Krasnoyarsk. Boarding a support boat steered by an experienced captain.
- The Expedition: In a small group of no more than eight participants, you will swim the river in stages – in a relay formation. Each participant swims two to three times daily and is accompanied by a motorboat. To succeed, you’ll need not just strength, endurance, and courage – teamwork will also be essential to reaching our goal.
The journey takes you to magical places
- Krasnoyarsk: A city in Russia located on the Yenisei River and the Trans-Siberian Railway
- Yeniseisk: A picturesque city where you can experience Siberia’s rich history and hospitality. After the first 420 km, you’ll enjoy a rest day with exciting explorations.
- Podkamennaya Tunguska: The untouched wilderness and endless forests will leave you deeply impressed as you cover another 510 km. Rest day.
- Turukhansk: At this location, where the Lower Tunguska meets the Yenisei, you will feel the proximity to the Polar Circle. Here, the nights are bright as day. Rest day.
- Dudinka: The harbor at the end of the world. Here, your swim concludes with a triumphant finish before you fly back to Moscow.
